If you are in Cusco, you can purchase Machu Picchu tickets at the Ministry of Culture open Monday-Saturday from 7am to 8pm. You must bring your original passport and CASH to purchase your Machu Picchu tickets. If you are a student, you must bring your original Student ID and it must follow the Student ID requirements. The address is: Casa Garcilaso on Calle Garcilaso.

The town of Aguas Calientes also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo is the nearest town to the Machu Picchu ruins. If you are in Aguas Calientes without tickets, this is your last chance to buy them if there are spaces available. However, ONLY CASH in Peruvian currency is accepted here. The address is Av. Pachacutec, Aguas Calientes and the office is open Mon-Sun 5am-10pm. You must bring your original passport to purchase.

To purchase your official Machu Picchu entrance tickets online as a student simply select the checkbox "Will present student ID" and the price will automatically be adjusted to the student price if you are between the ages of 18-25. However, you will receive an email asking you to submit an electronic copy of your university ID along with an electronic copy of your passport. You university ID must have the following characteristics to be accepted:
1. Must have university logo
2. Must have your picture
3. Name and Surname on the university ID must match your passport
4. Must have a valid expiration date.
If your student ID does not have these characteristics, it will not be accepted. You will be given the option to pay the difference in price and you will get a stadard Machupicchu ticket.
